Dedicated to the highest quality performing arts education, Wharton offers an array of summer activities for multiple age groups from private lessons with an exemplary faculty to musical theater, drama, and early childhood music camps. Theater Explorers
Nine Weeks of Summer Fun • Ages 7-13

Tuition: $275; Afternoon Add On $175 July 4, 4-day week is prorated
Theater Explorers introduces students to musical theater in a fun weekly camp from 9:00-1:00 each day. Campers work together to create an original script based on the theme of the week. A showcase featuring scenes, songs, and dances is performed each Friday. Campers have the option to stay in the afternoon on Mondays-Thursdays to enjoy fun in the sun at PAS and at the Berkeley Heights Community Pool.

Shakespeare in the Parking Lot
Two Weeks of Shakespeare • Ages 10-15

Show: Twelfth Night Performance Dates: 8/19 at 1:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.

This camp gives a nod to the tradition of Shakespeare performed outdoors in summer’s natural surroundings. Students work together to put on a unique production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night from start to finish, complete with costumes, props, and sets using the outdoors as their canvas. This camp is perfect for the budding actor interested in learning about theater and the classics.

Triple Threat Musical Theater Intensive
Two Weeks of Fierce Musical Theater • Ages 7-11

Show: The Wizard of Oz Performance Dates: 7/14 & 7/15 at 2:30 p.m.

Tuition: $850 Tuition
Hone your skills in acting, singing, and dancing in this two-week intensive camp! Campers perform a production of The Wizard of Oz from start to finish! Focus is on developing triple threat skills and putting them on display in two show-stopping performances at the end of camp. Jazz shoes required.

Two Weeks of Dramatic Arts • Ages 7-13

This two-week camp is designed to unleash the artist within with classes in movement, acting, and improvisation. Campers learn about theater while preparing a play from start to finish. On the final day of camp, students will present Snow White with costumes, scenery, and lights.

Meet the Instruments
One Week to Explore Instruments • Ages 5-8

Meet the Instruments will develop your child’s first instrument—themselves! Campers will explore their voice and body through song, dance, rhythms, art, stories, and dramatic musical play. Each day your child will learn about a different family of instruments that will be the extension of their “internal instrument” including Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Piano, and Percussion, with live demonstrations.

Music Around the World
Travel Around the World with Music • Ages 5-8

Explore and discover a new country every day under a cozy tent! Campers will explore traditions and cultures through musical instruments, pictures, and traditional clothing. We will dance, sing, play games, and even learn a few words from each country. There will also be an arts and craft project for each student to bring home. So grab your passports, sunscreen, and set sail!

Pathways to Piano Summertime Fun
Summer Fun with the Piano • Ages 4.5-7

Tuition: $225 Tuition
This two-week intensive summer class is both age and developmentally-appropriate for the beginning student. Students will learn how to locate notes on the piano, correct hand position and posture, rhythms, music symbols, note values, and solfeggio, not to mention play musical games and movement activities. Be ready to hear your child play a song on the last day of class! Camp will be held in our Piano Lab. Choice of one or two weeks.

Intro to Ukulele
Summer Fun with the Ukulele • Ages 5-8

Study one of the world’s most popular instruments with a pro in a one-week camp intensive. Learn the proper techniques used for the ukulele as well as develop a knowledge of the fingerboard that will enable you to play your favorite songs and have fun with the instrument!
