Paterson Music Project students are given the tools to succeed and flourish when they learn and perform an instrument. They gain greater self-confidence, discipline, creative thinking skills, a sense of achievement, and so much more that they will carry throughout life.
Programs are open to students of all musical abilities, with no prior experience necessary.
About Our Programs
Students of the Paterson Music Project study a primary instrument and participate in ensemble practice, instrumental sectionals, and private lessons three times a week.
Instruments and levels taught are dependent on the program location. Programs are open to students of all musical abilities, with no prior experience necessary. The course offerings are available to any student in Paterson Public Schools and to students of other Paterson schools that partner with PMP.
In addition to instrumental instruction, PMP offers opportunities to keep students engaged including family and community events, guest artist workshops, field trips, summer camp, scholarships, and other opportunities through partnering organizations.
