Biography
Victoria Witmer is a violist whose performance experience in orchestral, opera, and chamber music repertoire spans the Baroque through the very Contemporary.
Performing around the world, Victoria was a member of resident chamber ensembles with Lincoln Center Stage, providing nightly concerts of classical masterworks, specially commissioned arrangements, and unique recital programs. She has also worked with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Festival Orchestra, Sarasota Opera Orchestra, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra (Switzerland), and the Britten-Pears Orchestra at the Aldeburgh Festival (England).
Through her participation in numerous festivals and Masterclasses in Europe, she has assimilated the many ideas and diverse methods taught by widely recognized artists. With a strong interest in contemporary music, she actively promotes and performs works by many living composers, including several world premieres.
In addition to performing, Victoria provides private lessons on the viola and violin. She has also been invited to be a sectional coach and chamber music teacher for youth ensembles in New Jersey. She prioritizes the needs of each individual student and is flexible to their unique learning style and motivations for studying an instrument.
