Biography
Alena Rose is an actor, model, singer, and creative, raised in Beaverdam, Virginia. There she found the importance of entertainment and media and how it impacts our social climate and personalities. She believes that her purpose, vigor, and enthusiasm as a creative were formed by the lack of representation of POC plus-sized bodies she saw in the industry growing up. Now based in Jersey City/NYC, she is driven to advocate for such representation through the art she creates and beyond.
As an Educator, she uses the foundations of imagination, creativity and play in creative fields to teach her students about the importance of the entertainment industry, performance techniques, and how to build empathy and social skills in an ever-changing, technology-driven society. She’s taught choir classes, zine classes, and even taught students how to upcycle and make clothes through a recycled runway class at the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood.
Some Acting Credits include FEMM (Lenfest Center), Adult Lap Swim (NYTW reading), Light Shining in Buckinghamshire (Lenfest Center), and Macbeth (Rutgers Theater Company). Directing Credit includes Into The Woods Jr. (Wharton Arts).
