Biography
Soprano Paige Porter is a multi-genre singer and educator in the greater NYC region. She has over a decade of experience teaching voice and acting, including music direction and stage acting. Recent directing credits include music direction of The Addams Family Young @ Part and The Sound of Music Youth Edition at Rad Theatricals, and stage directing Trial by Jury at Rad Theatricals. She has guided a generation of voice students into collegiate programs for Music Education, Musical Theater, and Classical Voice. Paige stays up to date on music education through active membership in the New Jersey chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She is a founding member of Clarum Sonum, a non-profit community arts organization focused on bringing music to underserved communities, where she functions as the vocal health expert.
Paige is also an in-demand concert soloist and has performed major sacred works, including Messiah, Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9 and Mass in C, Bach’s Mass in B Minor, and Mozart’s Requiem. She is a professional chorister for organizations including the Seton Hall choirs, Clarum Sonum, the Oratorio Society of New Jersey, Mid Atlantic Chorus, and Arcadia Symphony Chorus. Notable opera roles include Josephine in HMS Pinafore and Diana in Orpheus in the Underworld with Light Opera of New Jersey, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas and Phyllis in Iolanthe with Ridgewood G&S Opera, and Sandman in Hänsel und Gretel with Clarum Sonum. Recent theater credits include Margaret in The Light in the Piazza at Rad Theatricals, Madame in Beauty and the Beast at Eccentric Theater Company, and Lili/Kate in Kiss Me Kate with the Madison Public Theater. Paige is the professional soloist and leader of song at BMT Parish in Bayonne. She can also be found singing jazz standards in restaurants and bars throughout North Jersey.
She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Westminster Choir College, where she was a member of the critically acclaimed Westminster Choir, participating in two of their recording projects and two seasons of opera residency at Spoleto Festival USA. She holds a Master of Music in Classical Voice from Manhattan School of Music.
