Why Take Private Lessons at PAS?
Students develop technical proficiency and fluency through instruction that is individualized. They develop a high level of musicianship that enables them to progress at their own pace.
Whether you are an experienced musician or a beginner student looking to pick up a new instrument, PAS’ private lessons will help you reach your goals.
Our packages include:
- Options for online or in-person lessons (online lessons are conducted via Zoom)
- Both instruments and voice including piano, guitar, ukulele, percussion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn, and harp
- Options for 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons
- Packages of 11, 16, or 32 lessons which include one student recital per semester
- Flexible scheduling with lesson times available Monday through Saturday. Both day and evening lesson times are available Monday-Friday and Saturdays 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Music lessons catered to the student’s preferred musical genre, including classical, rock, jazz, pop, and blues
Students can also take part in additional opportunities to advance their skills including:
- Super Sunday Marathon Recitals one hour recitals on Super Bowl Sunday where students perform and can hear other students perform on a variety of different instruments
- Juries for those students wanting extra feedback
- Honors Recitals (by acceptance only)
- Piano Concerto Competition win a chance to perform with the NJYS Youth Orchestra
- Annual Master Classes, Workshops, and Webinars with distinguished guest artists
- Suzuki Halloween Playdown a fun annual event for violin students to perform together in costume

How to Enroll
Whether or not you have an instrument in mind, we will guide you to select the lesson package that matches your or your student’s interests and goals.
Step 01
Schedule a free consultation to discuss goals and determine the instrument, instructor, and lesson time that best fits you or your student. You may also schedule a tour of our facilities.
Step 02
Register here for the lessons package and pay your fee based on the course determined at your consultation.
Step 03
You will receive a follow-up email/call to confirm your first lesson and ongoing schedule. If you haven’t already, please purchase or rent the instrument to begin.
If you are participating in virtual private lessons, please download and set up a free account with Zoom. In-person courses are taken at 60 Locust Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.
Cost and Financial Aid

As New Jersey’s largest community music education center, we believe that arts education should be available to everyone regardless of the ability to pay.
