Biography
Clarinetist and educator, Tanner Age is currently a DMA candidate in Clarinet Performance at Rutgers University, and previously received a Master of Music from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a Bachelor of Music from Western Kentucky University. Tanner has studied with esteemed clarinetists, such as Dr. John Cipolla, Dr. Victor Chávez, Dr. Maureen Hurd, and Mark Dover.
An avid performer of chamber music, Tanner co-founded the Garden State Quintet in 2022. The group was invited to perform at the prestigious 2024 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, where they finished as quarterfinalists. During his time in Tennessee, Tanner served as a member of the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, and co-founded the woodwind chamber trio, Moirai Winds.
Tanner is an active freelance clarinetist in the New Jersey/New York areas.
