Biography
Hailing from Hydra, the Greek pianist Stamatis Vlachodimitris has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe and the US. He has performed in venues such as Musikverein Vienna, Austria (Metallener Saal), Megaron Concert Hall of Athens and Megaron Concert Hall of Thessaloniki, Schönbrunn Palace Theatre, Vienna, the Greek National Opera at Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Istanbul’s Consulate of Germany Concert Hall. He has also collaborated among others with the Niederbayerische Philharmonie, the State Orchestra of Athens and the Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki.
Stamatis Vlachodimitris was a first prize winner of, “Concorso Pianistico San Donà di Piave”, the National Piano Competition of Thessaloniki Piano Festival, and the German competition “Jugend Musiziert” in Istanbul Turkey.
Stamatis Vlachodimitris is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at Rutgers University in the class of the internationally acclaimed pianist, Prof. John Perry. He holds a Bachelor's degree (2018) and a Master's degree (2020) in Piano Performance with First Class Honours from Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz, Austria, where he studied under the tutelage of the German pianist Michael Korstick. In 2022, he completed his Post-Master’s degree with distinction under the guidance of the Russian-born German pianist Lilya Zilberstein at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (MDW).
Stamatis Vlachodimitris has also participated in master classes tutored by Leif Ove Andsnes, John Perry, Mikhail Voskresensky, Boris Slutsky, Arthur Greene, Ian Jones, Oleg Marshev, Havard Gimse, Christian Ihle Hadland, Christos Noulis, George-Emmanuel Lazaridis and others.
