Biography
Having performed around the world and as a global activist, talented Argentinean singer-songwriter Sophia Angelica has worked closely with the United Nations, and has traveled internationally to combat bullying and discrimination through music. She received the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors “Breakthrough Artist Award,” and the prestigious “Presidential Volunteer Service Award” in Washington, D.C.. Having just returned from being invited by the Gates Foundation to perform in Thailand, Sophia continues to perform in well-known venues across the tri-state area. Most recently, Sophia won a Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award under the category of Contemporary Pop, presented by the legendary Clive Davis, and performed in Times Square with David Osmond for Wonderama TV. With her debut album #Angelicas, she has created a fun, energy-infused, emotional roller coaster of an album. Sophia has collected vast experience over the years in the arts, both performing, learning from some of the best teachers in New York, and teaching. Sophia is currently main teacher and creative director of New York-based acting school, Rybin Studio of Drama. She has been teaching her own classes to kids and teens 6-25 years old for 8 years, which includes voice, songwriting, acting techniques and history, and playwriting.
