Biography
Born into a family of classical musicians, Noah Kay began playing the oboe at age fifteen. In 2017, he joined the Colorado Springs Philharmonic as Principal Oboe, and in September 2022, he was appointed Principal Oboe of Symphony in C in Camden, NJ. Noah has performed and toured Europe and the US with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, including a recording on the Deutsche Grammophon label and performances at Carnegie Hall. He has also performed with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Colorado Symphony, Princeton Symphony, ProMusica Columbus, and Symphoria. Festival appearances include the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival, Manchester Music Festival, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, Cape May Music Festival, and National Repertory Orchestra. In summer 2023, Noah was appointed to the Second Oboe chair of the Chautauqua Institution’s Symphony Orchestra. For two weeks each summer, Noah also teaches at Kinhaven Music School’s Junior Session. He is currently a DMA candidate at Stony Brook University.
