Biography
Carlyn Smith holds B.A. from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and studied one year at the Mozarteum School of Music in Salzburg, Austria. She has served as a solo clarinetist with the Mt. Lakes Symphony as well as played with the Plainfield Symphony for many years. She has performed with various theatre productions of operas and popular musicals and has been employed as a music teacher for many years in public and private schools. Carlyn currently plays as solo/first clarinet with the Hanover Wind Symphony, of which she has been a member for many years. She is first clarinet with the clarinet quartet "Clarinets a la Mode," playing a wide variety of music, from classical to popular and jazz tunes for chamber music concerts.
