Aly Berkowitz

Conductor of Concertino Winds

Aly Berkowitz is the Instrumental Music Director at Valleyview Middle School in Denville, NJ, where she teaches all instrumentallessons and directs a wide range of ensembles, including Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Orchestra, and grade-level bands, as well as the school’s Spring Musicals. Since taking on the role, she has grown the program to nearly four times its original size, building a vibrant and supportive environment where students can challenge themselves, connect with others, and experience the joy of making music together.

Aly holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Montclair State University, with a concentration in Instrumental Music, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from William Paterson University. She is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the North Jersey Area Band, where she serves as President of the Junior Division. Passionate about expanding access to music education, Aly works to ensure her students have meaningful opportunities both in and out of the classroom. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling and being outdoors, watching soccer, and spending time with her dog, Pacho.
