Cedar Hill Preparatory is proud to announce that its arts partner, Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, will offer classes Mondays through Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm. Starting dates TBD. Three 8-week semesters will be offered during the academic year with each class being one hour long.
Classes such as Ethnic Drumming will explore the different rhythms from South and Central America as well as Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Cabaret I & II will introduce students to the Musical Theater Arts, including singing, acting, and movement. Meet the Instruments will give students a chance to try a variety of instruments throughout the year focusing on Strings, Winds and Brass, and Percussion, with each instrument family taught in a different semester. Also offered will be The Art of Ukulele, where students will learn to play songs on the instrument and relate it to the other string instruments.
The performing arts classes, offered to different grade groups throughout the year, include multi-activity discounts for those CHP families who would like to take multiple classes.
