Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts (WIPA) provides private music lessons and group lessons, musical theatre, drama, and dance classes for children, teens, and adults, beginners through advanced, in Berkeley Heights, NJ. In addition to instruction in all instruments and voice, WIPA offers classes in music theory, audio recording, early childhood music, and music for children with special needs. Offering a range of musical genres including classical, rock, jazz, and blues, WIPA is one of New Jersey’s largest non-profit community performing arts centers serving students in Union, Morris, Essex, Somerset, and other surrounding counties. WIPA is a founding school of The Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program.

New Jersey Latest News for Wharton Music Center

WIPA offers private lessons in piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, flute, clarinet, oboe, trumpet, trombone, French horn, saxophone, percussion, and harp. The New Jersey Youth Symphony (www.NJYS.org), the orchestral division of Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, has fourteen orchestras and ensembles for which students in grades 3 through 12 audition annually. Throughout the summer, WIPA offers full-day and half-day camps for children and teens. The Paterson Music Project is WIPA’s El Sistema-inspired after-school program that provides intensive music instruction to elementary school students in Paterson, NJ.

Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Department of State, A Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, Through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs.   Wharton Music Center is a qualified organization of the New Jersey Cultural Trust.   The Judith G.
