Weekly Themes – Carnival of the Animals: Donkey, Elephant, Kangaroo, Fishes, Coo Coo, Swan, Hens and Rooster, Tortoise, Lion
Director: Aurora Mendez
Is your curious free spirit a budding maestro?  Inspired by Camille Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals,” your Music Explorer will celebrate all of the beasts of the Earth through dynamic musical games, fun-filled crafts and lively role-playing.   Best of all, they’ll have the opportunity to try their little hands at instruments from each of the orchestral family, including strings, brass, woodwind, and percussion, plus more unique instruments such as harp, double bass and oboe.  Every week they’ll have an opportunity to briefly showcase what they’ve learned for family and friends. Topping it off, they’ll be introduced to the basics of music with a creative approach to piano instruction.  This flexible program can be scheduled for mornings only or a full-day package that includes fun in the sun at the Berkeley Heights Community Pool.
